Untitled document
Pino Galliano was born in Italy, in Santa Margherita Ligure,
a town on the Riviera near Genoa.
Descending from a modest fishermen's family,
Pino is very early fascinated by the magnificence of the surronding nature.
From the window of his home, on the sea shore,
he can watch the permanent yet fleeting spectacle of water, skies light...
He starts painting at the age of twelve and this passion stays with him forever.
For some years this activity remains marginal yet essential to his being.
In 1975, Pino Galliano has his first personal exhibition in Milano.
In 1976 he settles in Chailly en Bière, a small village in the countryside,
about 50 Kms south of Paris next to Barbizon,
world-famous cradle of the pre-Impressionists.
At Chailly he works and teaches painting and sculpture in his workshop-gallery.
For many years Pino Galliano has exhibitrd
his work at J.F. Millet workshop-house in Barbizon,
and participate to the artistic life in the region.
Over the past few years, he has been exhibiting
in England, Germany, Italy, Japan and the USA.
Several of his works can be found
in private collections throughout the world.

Pino Galliano is a self made painter.
Everything he learned, he learned with his heart
and through his eyes with total genuine naîvety. is painting is instinctive.
Wathever the subject, it conveys the emotion and elation of free creation
aloof from constraints of style and fashion.
His charcoal drawings, oil-paintings, pastels, watercolors
suggest characters, themes, shapes, couloring, textures soaked in light and life.
His sculptures: clay, bronze - feminine blossoming joyful shapes -
are all a true tribute to women.

(Fulvio Grassi)
